Emergency Closings

Weather Related and Emergency Closings

H.O.P.E Academy

H.O.P.E Academy shall be in session for at least 170 days. If during the course of the year, the school uses inclement weather/emergency days, it is necessary for the school to adhere to the schedule below.

H.O.P.E Academy reserves additional days beyond the 170 mandatory days of attendance as make-up days due to inclement weather and other school closings.

Announcement of emergency school CLOSINGS, necessitated by weather conditions or any other emergency will be carried by local radio stations and/or TV Channels (WJZTV-13, WBAL TV 11, and FOX 45).  The information will appear as “HOPE Academy.”  For emergency releases due to weather-related conditions, H.O.P.E Academy administration will also alert parents using the Robo-Call system.  You will receive a computer generated phone call as soon as a decision is made.

If no information is forthcoming, school will be in session as usual. For unexpected emergencies, an announcement will be made via local radio and television stations as well as the Robo-Call system.

If school is already in session and closes early due to bad weather, there will not be an After School Program. If parents cannot pick up their child by 3:00, they should make arrangements to have someone else pick up their child/ren. If school is closed for the day, the After School Program is also closed. If school opens late there is no Before Care Program.
